Member of that rare breed of singer/songwriters that started life in the sixties like Bonnie Raitt, John Hammond, Towns van Zandt, Smither has remained a true American original ever since. A product of the musical melting pot that created the Great American Repertoire with incredible fingerpick’ guitar work, coarse voicings and dazzling song writing. It has made Chris one of the best singer-songwriters in the world. Check him out at November 4th in Maastricht (Venue to be announced soon).

Call Me Lucky
He draws deeply from the blues, American folk music, modern poets, and philosophers. His career took off in 1966 mesmerized by his encounters with Lighting Hopkins and Mississippi John Hurt. Master of the folk/countryblues, Chris has been thrilling the world with his more than 25 albums for more some 55 years.
His latest double CD Call Me Lucky came out in spring 2018 was hailed one of his best “…creating a bracing, intimate record, one that feels filled with earned truths" (Steph Erlewine).

Brand new venue
Now Chris reaches Maastricht. On October 4th he will find a super venue in the Small Club of the brand new Muziekgieterij that was opened just a couple of weeks before. All in all, artist and venue appear to offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy the great American countryblues tradition at its best in the best venue in the Netherlands.
